Daily prompt : Sixteen Tons

How do you feel about your job? Do you spring out of bed, looking forward to work? Or, is your job a soul-destroying monotony of pure drudgery, or somewhere in between?

This my desk…

Today I have been sat here since 8am and it now nearly seven o’oclock.

I am very tired. Today has been filed with report writing, taking phone calls and supervising my trainee.

In the summer I have been known to creep into the office at half seven…

There are no worms…

And leave 12 hours later…

Tomorrow will be more interesting – clinic day!

How do I feel about my job?

I love my job. It is hard work but it is great fun and I hope I am doing some good.

I probably don’t leap out of bed in the morning – my joints are too old for that – but for the most part I look forward to coming to work everyday. Everyday is completly different – no boredom or drudgery involved at all. ‘Challenging’ and ‘eye-opening’ are just a few words that I might use to describe a typical day.

  1. I have Playmobils on my desk, you have Lego. Just imagine if our desks were side by side 🙂 Those are long days, but I’m guessing that you love your job if you give so many hours.

    1. It would be great!

Yes they are long days but many are shorter – working like that all the time would not be sustainable. However there is a driving force that keeps me going.
