Another day, another tube strike.
Listening to the radio in the car on they way back home between the tales of personal hardship and epic travel, the journalists and politicians alike were keen to throw lots of numbers about.
1. 8000 buses on the road
2. 70% more cycle hire
3. 50% trains running compared to 40% at the last strike
4. 87% Oyster card usage
Not really sure what this means because some things like stress and anxiety and frustration you cannot put a figure on.
Anyhow just thought I would add a few numbers of my own.
1 hour and 54 minutes to drive 20 miles.
Average speed 11mph
Such was the car park that was the North Circular this morning.
I fared a little better on the way home…
44 minutes to drive 20 miles.
Average speed 27 mph
And I have to do the whole thing again in the morning…
