Minimoon

A short break spent together by a newly married couple, typically in advance of a longer holiday to be taken at a later date.

My husband and I travelled down to Little Hampton for our minimoon. I had made a last minute booking on Air BnB for two nights in a converted World War 2 air raid shelter. It looks so cute and inviting in the pictures and all the reviews were excellent.

We loved the place!

It was so small and cosy – it felt like a minihouse ‘la casita’ as it is now lovingly referred to.

Consisting of a bed at one end of the room, with mini kitchen and eating area and a perfect little bathroom, it was just what we needed after the week of wedding preparation.

Our host Annie had given us a generous gift of flowers (tulips and daisies – my and my husbands favourites), strawberries and cream.

In addition to this she produced a tailor made hamper for us. I had given her some specifications – my husband loves dark chocolate, ham, cheese and good bread. Annie als provides just the right fruit – grapes, pears and kiwi fruit. We could not have asked for anything more!

There was a library of books to read and DVDs to watch. We opted for our Kindles by day and DVD at night. Friday night – Lost In Translation and Saturday night – The Illusionists.

I will remember the short time that we had in the air raid shelter with fondness!
